THERE WAS NOT A LOT OF CHANGE the vine room puzzle had a bit of an effect, and so did talking to Saya. Relationshipwise not much has changed either! His relationship with Marine is one of his most stable and close in Aatherin Aather; he is exceedingly fond of her, increasingly comfortable with her, and generally places a great deal of trust and respect in her. She is solidifying herself as part of his 'party' in Aather, and she's one of the people he will seek out to chat with about current events or talk about issues (inasmuch as . . . Swift actually talks about his issues ever) or metaphorically flop on when he's in a mood.

She is also on the very short list of people he will actually take memories with.

He sees her as this very determined, very idealistic, very direct person, and one of the things I've noticed is that . . . he's sort of hands-off and doesn't really correct or complicate her statements much. As opposed to the way he is with say, Zuko, where he is much more insistent about "I AM AN AMORAL JERKFACE and you are a good person, oh my god." It's as much desire to let her do her thing!! as it is any kind of concern over what she might think of him. He honestly thinks it is great that she is such a genuinely good and honest person, and that she ought to be allowed to continue to be that, and if she needed his help or his advice, he would give it. He just kind of adores her, okay. '-'

WELL!! There hasn't really been much change on Marine's side of things either, really. Her relationship with him is very stable and wonderful and it's one of the things she believes will always be there. She is super fond of him and trusts him a lot and respects him. Also, he sort of... fits into this place that only one other person has ever really filled, and that person (Tsubomi) isn't even in Aather. BASICALLY!! Everything you said in that first paragraph. Also they have a very comfortable relationship and they've totally hit that point where they are best friends and they can insult and tease each other and know it means absolutely nothing but affection.

Marine really appreciates that Swift let's her be her, but he also grounds her a little bit too so that her optimism doesn't hit ridiculous levels. She's willing to do the same for him-- he doesn't have the optimism she has, and she respects that a lot. Of course, she's still Marine, so there is always going to be a certain amount of pushiness and I'M GONNA DO THIS NOW NO MATER WHAT!! but she... tries... to not go overboard on that with Swift. It's a conscious effort at least.

Also, if Swift ever told her more about who he is... she would accept that? Because she can tell that Swift is a good person and that is what matters in the end to her. Marine has a very big heart and she loves very easily and she accepts others very easily unless they are making a point to be a terrible person.

So yeah Marine basically just adores Swift and they are totally platonically married by now aren't they. '-'

YES WE ARE SUPER MARRIED except for the part where he still has a bitty crush on you uhhh.

ALSO WINDCHIMES:

So the windchimes were strung along four stone platforms going in towards the center of the LOVE POND. These platforms represented the progression of Swift's positive feels toward you! In order: amusement --> regard --> familiarity --> dearness.

Marine's windchime is Heliodor and blue (the same blue as her hair), and it was hung on the far side of dearness, close to the center of the pond. The feeling you get touching the chime is a warm, easy feeling, a comfortable fondness--admiration and affection in equal parts, mingled with the assurance that someone, out there, has your back.

Tsuruume's windchime is brown and Heliodor, actually more brown than Heliodor, and it's hung on the far side of amusement, pointing towards regard. Touching it gives you a feeling that's basically a mixture of curiosity and amusement, a strange combination of condescension and genuine respect.

Church's windchime is Heliodor and red (this . . . actually may be a coincidence :'D); it's hung on the near side of amusement and touching it gives you a feeling that is basically lol!! lol!! lol!!!!!

she kind of has a small crush too but HAS NEVER THOUGHT... TO ACTUALLY ACT ON THAT... romance is hard. :'(

... ahhh the windchimes. Marine's is cute and Church's is. Very Accurate because Church.

Do the colors mean anything? :O

ROMANCE IS VERY HARD :[

The colors are just visual representations of the character in question! Sometimes this is literal (Marine's chime being part her hair color), sometimes metaphorical--Tsuruume gets brown because she's very sensible and no-nonsense and grumpy; Church gets red because it's a loud color and he's very loud. Originally they were all just their team color but I decided that wasn't very interesting.
