HILARIOUSLY he did not have a strong opinion of her until this latest thread! Partly because Swift as he came into Aather was deeply cynical and superior and sort of . . . mentally passed over "nice," straightforward, friendly people as not worth his time, and partly because the one substantial thread they had . . . while he had unbent a little by that point, Swift just doesn't know where to slot a relationship based on FLYING CAKES and pure childlike enjoyment. It does not match up with his image of himself at all. His positive off-team CR up until this point has pretty exclusively consisted of people whom he could verbally spar with (Apple, Daisy, C.C.) and engage in an exchange of wits!!, and Erika was just not that at all, and while he liked her he also didn't know how to parse his liking of her, and would probably never, ever have admitted it.
And then the latest thread, which . . . okay, he is never, ever going to acknowledge that he cried in front of you, even to himself! But he has found a place to slot you, finally. XD Erika benefits, probably the most out of all of Swift's CR, from the fact that he's gotten pretty much nonstop endgame memories since he got here. He's still sort of naturally cynical and superior, but he remembers loving and, eventually, respecting a lot of naive, good-hearted, idealistic people; he remembers pure-hearted determination to make the world the way you want it to be!! and the fact that it actually fucking worked. And Erika reminds him a lot of his party. She is basically his Moses, except a cute girl instead of a stupid bandit. :T So he will just be exasperatedly fond in her direction and play the SMART DUDE WHO CAN SEE THINGS AS THEY REALLY ARE, NOT HOW YOU *WANT* THEM TO BE, ERIKA, and pretend that any moments where he is emotionally vulnerable or depends on her just didn't happen. Because Swift is a winner.

Okay, when Erika decides she wants someone to be her friend, they are her friend, whether they like it or not. That's what she did to her best friend in the first episode of her show. And that happened with Jay too, I thiiiiiink. . . when Tsuruume and Erika were visiting cabins. :|a But it didn't really become a solid thought until FLYING CAKE!! and then when she determined that HE WOULD BE HER FRIEND that was a thing that happened and that's why she found him after the game and hugged him. He is so tsundere and that does not phase her at all. :'D IN FACT it just makes her be even more affectionate than she would be normally.
She respects that he's a bit more serious and cynical and that is absolutely fine because he doesn't try to stomp all over her idealism. /o/;; I think Jay is actually one of her closest off-team relationships that's not with Coral or Sapphire. She won't ever bring up the fact that he cried in front of her, either, so your secret crying is safe with her!! And will be in the future if it ever happens again too.
Basically there is just a lot of dere and she is really fond of him. :'D
Hmm, what is Jay's favorite team that's not Jasper? Does he have one?

No, um, that's basically it. When I called Swift a Matryoshka doll of repression, I was mostly thinking of his thread with Erika. He has a lot of feelings he is refusing to acknowledge! He feels betrayed by her total lack of regard for the team, which he can't admit (even to himself) because that would mean acknowledging that he wanted or expected her to care about the team, which he can't because he knows full well that is stupid. Teams are arbitrary! There is no good reason to get attached to someone just because you dropped in wearing the same color as them, and there is no good reason for him to think (because he is a super realistic dude who is never led astray by his feelings and always sees the unpleasant truth!!) that any given person would do so, knowing what he does about how people work. Also: to be betrayed by someone you have to have cared about them in the first place which is CLEARLY IMPOSSIBLE for all the above reasons, and also because it would be stupid because she is clearly a terrible person (especially. in hindsight) and Swift never makes stupid decisions. Yes. Of course.
POST-GAME he has finally acknowledged to himself that he cares about Jasper as people (and bird??) and that he would probably fall on a sword for them and do a bunch of other ridiculous things, so he is just mentally shoving Erika out of his conception of team and THINKING DISDAINFULLY in her direction and telling himself it is just because she is a stupid, arrogant, thoughtless child with no ability to realize that "oh, maybe I shouldn't fuck myself and my unit into a corner for short-term gain!!" who poses a danger to his priorities in Aather. So he is going to watch her like a hawk and make sure she doesn't fuck with his things :|a But--not gonna lie, I don't expect Swift to be anything but uniformly terrible at Erika at all times, so it's a good thing we have Eve . . . .
(Swift: not actually good at strategic thinking when his feelings are involved!)

Fortunately she's mostly occupied with hating Citrine for being stupid and plotting how best to ruin their lives in revenge, because she's an intellectual rapist!! Winning and seeing people's pathetic faces when they're beaten is her sole pleasure!! She ruins people's lives for fun, she doesn't even need this much of an excuse okay!!!
It will be... interesting when she actually talks to Jasper again though, because she did have some feelings when all of Jasper was against her. :x Particularly at the end when Ivory was like "come stand with us!" Erika was internally a bit like "...why should I, everyone on the team hates me now. WHICH IS FINE SINCE I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM AND I'M A TERRIBLE PERSON!! There's no reason I should die with them rather than alone, I obviously am alone..." Which... actually kind of affected her, because as much as she doesn't... do feelings or teamwork or treating other people with respect, she also does not actually want to be completely alone?
SO PARTICULARLY THERE WERE FEELINGS ABOUT SWIFT BEING AGAINST HER BECAUSE SHE DID LIKE HIM? He was her favorite. Obviously the way she phrased it was "I'm disappointed because I thought you were smart enough to agree with me" and that's how she'd think of it. But she is also kind of... sad that they can't do things together. Not that she'd ever admit it. But it was fun when they bantered and made fun of people together, why does that have to stop when murder is involved. :( OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. That was a very exciting game and I am still working out Erika's actual feelings.
...She's not going to show any of that though, because Erika is excellent at being like no I have no feelings I'm the villain, it's fine if you treat me like that because that's who I am!!

Daisy is just . . . a very nice, easy relationship for Jay, without feelings or complications or anything that might be difficult. He can get the better of her, which he likes, and he can exchange quips with her on an equal level, which he also likes. She's clever and perceptive and has a sensible take on things (read: not too "nice"), even if he was kind of :T at her comments re: team problems. It's nice having someone around who will play the "game" with him, so to speak, rather than having it go over their heads entirely, or getting mad or awkward (not that he doesn't like heckling people but that's a different kind of enjoyment), or turning it around on his head. XD And the idea of this girl who knits and has a "violent," chaotic past kind of suits him. He is definitely curious about the fire tornados.

After the game he sort of had this idea of tracking them down one by one until he could get them to fess up WHO DID THAT, but he didn't really have a clear goal in mind (I don't think he would have actually gone through with revenge) and when he actually saw Blackberry he sort of realized that he . . . didn't want to see them. At all. And he interpreted her and Percy's answers as to who made the decision as them closing ranks around each other, which is the one thing in this whole mess that he sort of respects about them, since it's what he'd do. Fine, he can blame them all equally, since they seem to want that.
Otherwise they did not impress him! Percy did sort of disarm him by admitting to fucking up right off and being really apologetic about it, but . . . Jay prizes perceptiveness and the ability to see things as they really are, and he is not impressed by "good intentions," especially noble intentions, which he interprets here as wishful thinking and stubbornness blinding them to the truth. He is very disdainful that they didn't bother to read the fine print, so to speak, or find out who their partner team was, because Jasper is a very cerebral team! And they have won games--they won their first game--by being cerebral and careful and meticulous and reasoning out as much as possible based on very little information, and they were careful to ask the relevant questions in this game. They played strategically, and in fact all of their arguments centered around what the most strategic tack to take would be. And the fact that Citrine, as he sees it, didn't think and didn't play--well.
I could go on, but it's almost beside the point. He's made up his mind that Citrine is a bunch of idiots who let their feelings and preconceived notions get in the way of finding the best path through the game, to Jasper's detriment, and I don't think there's anything anyone could possibly do to shake that. He will just come up with post-hoc justifications for why it doesn't matter. (Citrine was fighting? Well, so were we, and it didn't stop us from playing right!!) The crux of the issue is that--during the game Swift began to realize that he really cared about his team and wanted to protect them, and he was willing to do almost anything (including a lot of morally questionable shit, although that didn't come up so much) to accomplish that, even though he knew his ability to control their fate was limited. He tried his hardest, even so! And then it didn't even matter. Fundamentally Swift is not mad because Citrine passed--he is mad because you made him feel helpless. :'D Which is a lot harder to swallow.
And then I think the apology actually made things worse, whoops. Jay doesn't care about you or your apologies, and he doesn't think there's anything you can do that will make up for the fact that you killed his entire team, so why are you here?? Especially since he . . . doesn't want to see you, haha. Honestly, he views it as just more self-justification, Citrine's attempt to make themselves feel better by telling themselves they did the "right" thing, and the fact that Blackberry didn't respond to his jab about that only cements his feelings.
SO WHAT ARE AOKO'S THOUGHTS ON JASPER . . . JASPERING IN HER DIRECTION

… Unless Jasper targets Citrine in or out of a game. That, she won't allow. She's a lil' worried about it primarily—well, actually, entirely—because of Erika, who outright stated that she wants revenge. As far as Berry's concerned, YES she would have let Erika hit her. No she will NOT over her dead body allow Erika to hurt Citrine. At her heart, Berry is a straightforward, emotive, protective character. SO.
