I wonder if the difference isn't that the magic is imbued in an inert object, rather than being invested in a person. Or perhaps our powers ultimately derive from our own worlds, and this is just a matter of proximity.
The non-murderous Uvi talked about how Elto magic was somehow different from the kind of magic humans used. That might be relevant.

Yes, that's certainly something I'd like to know too. Honestly, I'd just like to see if we can get her to talk to us. She may not tell the truth, but then at least we'd have some idea of what she's like.

We do not have the information to make a decision. In some ways, that might be deciding against her, but mostly I'm frustrated from the lack of information. I'm willing to work with her if I know more about what she's doing and who she is.
