Yuki is something a little . . . strange for Swift, in that most of his relationships (certainly peer relationships/friendships) are way more . . . torrid?? dramatic? FULL OF SPEECHIFYING? He was saved by the Oresoren at the lowest point of his life, he bonded with his canon party while frantically trying out how to avert the destruction of his world--even a lot of his close CR in Aather can be traced back to one or two dramatic catalytic events that may or may not involve trauma games, uh. Friendship based on the accumulation of pleasant surface interactions (or, uh, NORMAL FRIENDSHIP I guess) is not something he has a lot of referents for! So he still gets really surprised at things like Yuki going OH YOU SHOULD MEET MY BOYFRIEND because it's hmmm, something that indicates, mmm, "oh, I have a defined place in your life," in a way where he wasn't really sure that he did . . . they don't even really have that many serious conversations!
He noodled around for a while being sort of oh '-' are we friends '-' I guess we are '-' up until that came to a head with the Nimue plot stuff. HE IS PLEASED TO BE ACTUAL EXPLICITIZED FRIENDS . . . being Friends with Swift is a strange state that doesn't necessarily mean he cares about you more but does mean he voluntarily tells you more things so we'll see how that goes I guess!
He is also sort of huffy that Yuki got way more confident and centered about some things while he was in the Book but that's true of so many people he knew pre-Booking that he's sort of thrown his hands up about it at this point.
